Your Pet’s and Children

If you are like most parents who also own pets, teaching your kids to get along and interact safely with your dog and cat is a top priority. While pets teach children responsibility, they are still animals and can be unpredictable. To teach your kids proper pet care and behavior, consider signing them up for a free class at a local animal shelter. Most animal shelters offer free classes! During these classes, children will learn how to be gentle with the dog or cat so he doesn’t feel threatened. The best way for your kids to learn good pet care habits is to lead by example.

It is also important to properly train your pet, most animal shelters also offer free training for your pet.
